Microsoft Paint is finally adding some of Photoshop’s best features

Microsoft Paint, a beloved image editing tool, is about to get even more user-friendly with its upcoming update.

This enhancement includes the introduction of a background removal tool that simplifies the image editing process.

With this new tool, users can effortlessly remove the background from any image with a single click. Whether you want to eliminate the background entirely or focus on a specific area, the selection tool provides you with precision and control.

In the new version of Paint, users can use the core functions necessary for working with layers (adding new layers, moving them around, reordering them, merging, duplicating, etc.) in order to create more advanced art with stacked image elements.

Currently, the update is in the testing phase and is available to Windows Insider Preview users in the Canary and Dev Channels (version 11.2306.30.0). Here's a sneak peek at how the background removal tool works:

How the Background Removal Tool Works:

  • Single-Click Magic: Microsoft Paint's background removal is designed to be user-friendly. With a single click, the tool can detect the subject and seamlessly remove the background from the entire image.

  • Selective Editing: If you prefer a more tailored approach, you can use the rectangle select feature to specify a particular area within the image. The background removal tool will then refine its magic within your chosen selection.

The official rollout date for this update is yet to be announced.

However, it's expected to become available to all users in the coming months after Microsoft receives feedback and perfects the feature during the beta testing period.

Stay tuned for a more intuitive and efficient image editing experience with Microsoft Paint's background removal tool.

Whether you're a professional graphic designer or a casual user, this update promises to make image editing more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
