1) What does the acronym RFID stand for what is it used for?
RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification, a technology that uses tiny computer chips smaller than a grain of sand to track items at a distance.
2) What is the RFID?
Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) is the use of radio waves to read and capture information stored on a tag attached to an object. A tag can be read from up to several feet away and does not need to be within direct line-of-sight of the reader to be tracked.
3) How do you know if your credit card has a RFID chip?
Find out if your credit card has an RFID chip. To find out whether a credit card has an RFID chip, you can look at the card to tell if it does or does not. If you see the marked symbol on the image below, it is supporting RFID. Also, if the card says Pay Pass, pay Wave or blink, it also has RFID capabilities.
