Land Rover Unveils Range Rover Electric

Their groundbreaking fully electric model, the Range Rover Electric, is set to match the performance of a flagship Range Rover V8.

Land Rover, in line with its commitment to electrification, has initiated the process by offering electrified versions of its vehicles.

The Range Rover Electric, teased through a press release and video, boasts an 800-volt architecture, harnessing all the advantages of a modern EV while maintaining the power and off-road capabilities synonymous with its gas-powered counterparts.

Although details are currently limited, the Range Rover Electric is slated to deliver "performance comparable to a flagship Range Rover V8" and inherit the all-terrain prowess developed by Land Rover experts.

This off-road capability includes the impressive ability to wade through 850mm of water (2.8 feet), although the existing V8-powered 2023 Range Rover already offers a depth of 900mm.

Described as the "quietest and most refined Range Rover ever created," the electric model incorporates features such as "active road noise cancellation configuration and sound design" for enhanced cabin comfort, leveraging the inherent quietness and simplicity of an electric drivetrain, a common trait among luxury EVs.

Built on Jaguar Land Rover's Modular Longitudinal Architecture (LMA) with an 800-volt architecture, the Range Rover Electric is designed to support rapid charging on public networks, offering enhanced performance, efficiency, and weight savings.

Land Rover is committed to providing "a seamless electric ownership experience," promising effortless charging, energy partnerships, software-over-the-air updates, and intelligent technology to optimize range.

Both the vehicle and batteries will be manufactured in the UK, in Solihull and Wolverhampton, respectively.

While specific details such as range, performance, and comprehensive vehicle photos are yet to be revealed, enthusiasts intrigued by Land Rover's teaser video and the promise of cutting-edge electric technology can now join the waiting list.
