However, it comes with certain limitations that need consideration.

Pros:

120Hz OLED Screen: The LG Gram Style boasts a vivid 120Hz OLED screen, ensuring exceptional visual quality.

Bold Color-Changing Chassis: Its iridescent chassis changes colors in the light, making it visually striking.

Lightweight: As the name suggests, this laptop is incredibly lightweight, which is especially impressive for a 16-inch model.

Cons:

Limited Power: The laptop's performance is not at the top end, and demanding tasks may challenge it.

Poor Thermal Management: The thermal management of the LG Gram Style leaves room for improvement, potentially affecting long-term performance.

Bendy Chassis: The laptop's chassis exhibits some flexibility, which may not be ideal for those seeking a sturdier build.

Noteworthy Touchpad: Unfortunately, the touchpad's performance falls short, impacting overall usability.

Release Date and Price

The LG Gram Style was released on March 20, starting at $1,799 for the base model, featuring a 13th-gen Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and a 16-inch OLED display.

The model with upgraded RAM, 32GB in total, is priced at $1,999. Additionally, there is a 14-inch version available for $1,499, equipped with a 13th-gen Intel Core i7 CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD.

Design: Beyond Skin Deep

The LG Gram Style's allure goes beyond its aesthetic appeal. It combines a captivating iridescent finish with a hidden touchpad that becomes visible when touched.

The lightweight design, weighing just 2.76 pounds, makes it one of the lightest 16-inch laptops on the market.

The iridescent lid shifts colors based on lighting and viewing angles, providing a unique yet subtle visual effect.

The laptop's structural integrity, however, could be improved, as it exhibits some wobbling and chassis flexibility.

Display: Vibrant OLED

The LG Gram Style features an expansive OLED display that delivers vibrant and immersive visuals.

During lab tests, it achieved an impressive 156% color reproduction on the DCI-P3 test, surpassing competitors like the Samsung Galaxy Book Ultra and MacBook Pro 16-inch.

In HDR content playback, the LG Gram Style reached 477 nits of brightness, although this falls short of the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra and the MacBook Pro 16-inch.

User Experience: Mixed Bag

The Gram Style's typing experience is decent, offering a good key travel distance.

However, it might feel somewhat hollow and less tactile compared to other laptops.

The touchpad presents challenges with palm rejection and accuracy, especially when used in less stable conditions, such as on a moving bus.

Performance: Competent Everyday Companion

With a 13th-gen Intel Core i7 processor, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD, the LG Gram Style should handle most daily tasks efficiently.

It performs well in multitasking scenarios, smoothly managing web browsing, messaging apps, and multimedia streaming.

The SSD's speed is noteworthy, achieving 1,631 Mbps in file transfers. However, it falls behind in CPU-intensive tasks, such as video transcoding, where it takes more time compared to some competitors.

In graphics and gaming, the Gram Style lags behind, with lower 3DMark Time Spy scores and modest gaming performance.

Battery Life: Impressive Endurance

One of the Gram Style's standout features is its remarkable battery life. It outperforms several competitors, providing extended usability on a single charge. This extended battery life enhances its suitability for on-the-go professionals.

Heat Management: Room for Improvement

The LG Gram Style faces challenges in terms of heat management.

During a heat test involving video playback, it reached temperatures above 95 degrees Fahrenheit on the underside, which might be uncomfortable for users.

Verdict: Aesthetic Appeal with Caveats

The LG Gram Style is the kind of laptop that makes you go “wow” when you pick it up. No 16-inch laptop should be this light, and yet it is. But this is also the kind of system that makes you go “hmmm” when you see the price.

The LG Gram Style undoubtedly captures attention with its lightweight build, unique design, and OLED display. However, its limitations, such as thermal management issues and a subpar touchpad.
